WD Community

Would there be any interest in having a Songbird plugin?  I'd love to be free of Nike and Apple's control over my music and my ipod.

Since workoutdump already appears to be able to manage the data directly from the ipod, all that would be necessary would be some mechanism to allow songbird to directly upload the file from within its ipod control pane/addon.  

Are there any roadblocks from allowing this sort of interaction?

I'm a little confused on as to what your asking. Maybe because I've never used Songbird, but what exatly are you trying to do? Have Songbird directly upload the workout files to WorkoutDump ? or to Nike Plus's site ? Or something else?

 I'd like to be able to have Songbird automatically upload the files to Workout Dump.  Songbird is an open source media library alternative to iTunes.  It has an addons framework similar to firefox (Songbird is based on gecko rendering engine) and it aims to be platform agnostic.  WorkoutDump appears (at least to me) to have a decent and open community - kind of the same community that would embrace using something besides itunes if they could.

Future versions of Workoutdump could include community playlists, etc. which would integrate nicely into Songbird as well.
