    Rave Run

Every month when I read Runner's World magazine, I always enjoy the monthly "Rave Run"

What is your Rave Run? Hmm

My new one is my run in Rome this past week. I hit the street at 6 a.m. and ran a route I mapped out the night before. It took me from my hotel to the ruins of the Roman Forum and then down the street to the Coliseum. I ran around the Coliseum and back to my hotel. I passed up my hotel and headed to Villa Borghese Park. On my way there I passed by the Hard Rock Cafe and the U.S. Embassy. Once in Villa Borghese Park I ran around the park and wound up at the entrance to the Rome Zoo. I then headed out of the park and back to my hotel.

You can view this run on Google Maps by clicking here. My Forerunner had a little trouble picking up a good signal when I started my run but it eventually was able to correct itself.

For me it is the state cross country meet when I was senior in highschool. Yeaah that far back. It was the Michigan International Speedway, where the yearly Nascar race is run at. The course started in the middle of the in field and went out across the track to the back of the stadium and then finished along turn four at the real finish line for the races. The stands were packed with people and the crowd was really roaring when I crossed the line.

A close second worth mentioning is this year, when I got to run in Las Vegas with MrsMcbeev. We started at the Golden Nugget and made it to the beginning of the strip. Running under the Sahara and Stratosphere  was a pretty cool experience, minus the heat I think it was 90 at the time and it was only like 9am.

My run would be running the coast of west maui this past march.  Scenic, tranquil, and relaxing 14 miles.

I'd have to second the Vegas runs.  I went from the Luxor up the strip.  Then again, I do have gambling issues ;-)

My favorite run used to be a 12 miler at my parents house - down cannonsburg to petis to knapp to egypt valley to cannonsburg.  It was a really hilly run, but I enjoyed it because part of it we used to run in high school cross country.  I managed to find water stops along the way too, which was good since I usually ran it in the summer training for college cross country.  Too bad there's probably no way I'll ever be in that kind of shape again!

But I agree with Mcbeev, a good close second was running with him again like old times:)  We used to have some good times and Im hoping there's more to come.
